Claymation Reflection
I really enjoyed doing this project. It taught me a lot about famous explorers. It also taught me a lot about technology and working with a partner. My partner was River Ellis and he is really good with computers which made the project easier. All around this project was a great learning experience.
My favorite part of the project was finishing it and watching the whole thing together. I think our claymation turned out well, and even though it wasn't the best it was still good. We added a lot of good music with an end that makes the video worth watching. River and I started off not working together very well but at the end it turned out to be a good partnership. I mostly took the pictures and did the narration and he mostly did the computer work. When we started the project River and I fought about everything possible there is to fight about. Everyone was saying how we would be really bad partners but at the end I'm glad I decided to be with him. Some of our claymation has some funny parts and some dumb parts which make it better than if it was just good. That would just be boring. The most enjoyable part was definitely watching the finished video.
The most difficult part of this project was the technology. We had a lot of things we had to know. I did not know how to use the new iMovie and I had to learn. I used the old version of iMovie last year, but to my surprise it was different this year. We learned all about it and now it's really easy. Using it has been a good experience and I now know a lot more about computers. Another hard part in this project was trying to not fight with River. In the beginning it happened a lot but at the end we figured out a system. I sat in the chair with the keyboard and he had the mouse. It ended up working well.
I learned three main things in this project. I learned all about my explorer, Henry Hudson. I read a book about him, that taught me all about his amazing life. Another thing I learned was about technology and using the computer. I didn't know a lot about making videos by taking pictures before but now I know how to do it. If we did this project again it would be a breeze. The third main thing I learned about was being a good partner. During this project I have been on both sides of he argument, being wrong and being right. I learned to listen to River's ideas and what he had to say. Being partners turned out to be good.
This project was a good experience. It helped me learn a lot about technology, partnership, and my explorer. It's fun to share my video with other people. I also like watching other peoples projects and seeing how they did theres. This was a good project to do.

Camdennn!
My freakin favorite kid ever!
Camden is one of my best friends and he’s pretty bomb. He really likes to hurt me though. :( Even though he said he was going to freaking stop.
He’s really good at sports like football and basketball. I’m really mad he is going to Archbishop next year and ill probably cry. ;)
But ill get over it. I have known him for like ever and he used to call me CC, which made me really mad...obviously he likes to annoy me. He tells me a lotttt of stuff even though i don't tell him much haha. He's a pretty rad kid, even if him and jimmy shove me up against the wall on the bus until i can't breathe. i swear, they will kill me one day. but i still love them! :) I love camden.

Soccer
Our soccer team is actually pretty good. We have 7th graders and 8th graders on our three teams. We have a Varsity team with 16 players, a Junior Varsity team with 13 players and a Junior Varsity 2 team, but I'm not sure how many players are on it. I'm on the varsity team a long with Lindsey, Sarah, Maddie, Jenna, Audrey, Jamie, Mackenzie, Maia, Lillianna, Phalen, Ellie, Paige, Megan, Delanie, and Sylvie. Everyday we do fun drills and for the last half hour we scrimage JV. I play midfield, mostly outside but occasionally inside. Our first game is at Kings on the 20th. This is the first year ever that we have played Kings and Kings has a good reputation in sports and I'm scared, but excited. Our rec soccer season just ended but next weekend we have a three day tournament over in town and I really hope we do well. Our rec soccer team is called Riptide F.C. and we had gray and bright pink sweatshirts (yuck.) In our season we won 6 games, lost 3, and tied 1. Our last game was really fun and we played when it was pouring down rain and the field was pure mud. Lillianna and Megan went and slid threw the mud before the game which was dumb. I tried as hard as I could to not get muddy but it didn't work. I scored a goal but they didn't count it, after the game a lot of the team went and slid through the mud and got covered, which was dumb too. Also after the game Lillianna and I left with Delanie and we did some stuff......and then went to our pizza party! It was fun, I guess. I'm really excited for our school season to actually start and we can start playing games! Wooooot! I'm pumped. :)

Angela Coomber.

Okay well I wrote this really long blog about all the people I wish I was like, and i guess i forgot angie...whoops! So the only reason im writing this is to make her feel as special as you guys. because she is.
Angie is an amazing person! She is really good at volleyball! She is also really good at horse back riding (or so i've heard). In volleyball she is such a beast it is amazing. She is always where she is supposed to be and if her teams messes up she still is a team player and reminds them they are doing good. She is a really good friend and i trust her with my life. She made me the best birthday graffiti thinger ever and it's pretty much the coolest. She still owes me a flip flop (just reminding you angie!) But yeah so I love Angela Celeste Coomber with my whole heart!

LifeGraphhhhh.

My trip to Oregon.
I went to Oregon for my 5th grade winter break to visit my cousins. We went for two freaking weeks. I went to visit my two cousins Andrew, Nick, and my aunt and uncle. I went with my dad, sister, and brother. It was snowing hard core the whole time. We went snowboarding, went to batting cages, and go carting. Nick and Andrew are my favorite cousins. The main reason we went down there was because my dad was helping my uncle build there garage. While they were building it my cousin and I were running around it and he fell and sprained his ankle so he couldn't go snowboarding with us the next day. My cousins live in Bend, Oregon and it was really cold when we were there. We also went sledding a whole bunch of times by a big hill next to there house. One of the times we were sledding my sled hit a rock and I flew off my sled and landed into a huge pile of snow and it was freezing. All together it was a really fun trip. I'm going again this winter break and I'm really excited.

Adventure Ed. Washington Coast

^^im so cute!^^

^^look at those muscly legs!^^

^^we surrounded mr. be with bear cans when he was sleeping!^^
Last year, other than the California trip, the Adventure Education class went on a different trip to the Washington Coast. This trip I knew was going to bad. The first day we had to wake up really early to get to school so we could get on the bus in time. We all arrived at the school and got on the bus. The bus ride was so incredibly long. It seemed like it took the whole entire day. We stopped at a building to get our bear cans and we all stuffed as much food we had into the cans. The rest we ate and shared. When we arrived at the coast have of us got out and started our adventure. We walked on sand for a long time with our backpacks and I had trouble not falling over because it was hard to walk. We had to cross some streams that were pretty scary because we were walking on logs and over creaks with huge backpacks on, I was sure I was going to fall in. The first couple days were fine and we just kept walking and walking for miles and camped for the nights. One of the nights on the trip Carrin and I set up our umbrellas and slept underneath them because we really wanted to see some wild animals! We both fell asleep way before we saw anything. We woke up the next day soaking wet. Throughout the trip we played a lot of games with Micah like Big Booty, and Mafia. Some of us went on rope swings and played volleyball with a rope we found. We also ate mussels we found for dinner one night. On the trip we alone time which was really fun and I slept and ate food while everyone else journaled and explored. One day we started walking and it started raining. I knew it was going to be bad. I got my umbrella out and we started hiking, I couldn't wait until we got to Yellow Banks. Our next destination. While we were walking those miles over slippery rocks, my umbrella kept trying to fly away and flip inside out. It was really frustrating. Then to make matters worse, Megan dropped out tent in a tide pool and it was soaking wet. We finally got to Yellow Banks and the view was amazing. There was a huge cliff with big rocks and over looking one of the biggest beaches I've seen. It was perfect sand, and then water aways out. The bad part was that we were all soaking wet, it was one of the last nights, and I had no more dry clothes. So we had to climb up this mud covered cliff with a really thing, hand burning rope, with our huge backpacks on to get where we could set up tents. We all finally made it up and Megan and I slept in a fort that we found and we were both really mad we went on the trip. The next night was really fun, we saw a beached whale and sea lion, rabid raccoons, birds, and other sorts of little animals. I really liked this camp site. Since our tent was soaking wet Megan and I slept under an umbrella. Megan was freaking out for a while because she thought the raccoons were going to eat us. The next day we walked on a board walk through and rain forest and caught the bus home. :)
The trip was a great experience but let's just say I liked the California Trip a lot better, but it was a life changing experience and I'm glad I did it.

Adventure Ed. Trip

^^^I LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART! I MISS YOU CUTIES!^^^
Last year I took the class Adventure Education. My teachers were Mr. Snelling and Mr. Bergquist. One of the trips we took was to California. We took a train and a few buses down to California. We stayed at Carpinteria Beach, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz Island. We stayed 10 days in California. It was a really fun trip. When we were on the island we saw skunks, foxes, and other little animals. My goal was to see a fox but I was one of the only people to not see one. I was really sad that I saw every other animal except for an island fox. My favorite part was going to the beach and taking over 300 pictures of guys with Megan. When we went to the island in he first place I got sick on the bus and it wasn't fun at all. The trip was really pretty scenery wherever you looked. The train was fun to sleep on but the buses were extremely uncomfortable. I really liked the first day we went on the island because you could go exploring wherever you wanted. Megan and I climbed a giant hill that was really scary. She pushed me on the way down and I slid all the way down the hill that was pretty much a cliff. The next day Megan and I climbed a big hill again and we found the prettiest spot on the island. It was a huge white flat rock over looking crystal blue water and you could see schools of cute little fish swimming in it. We felt like we were on top of the world. You could see Anacapa very well too, and the olive trees, and the canyon we climbed down to get to the beach. One of the hikes we took to the beach we had a to climb down a huge scary canyon and we had to jump really big puddles where some of us fell in the water. We climbed through tunnels and rocks. When we got out of the canyon we found a big old house with an orange tree and we all ate oranges until we got sick. Carrin and I ran to the back of the house and we saw a deck that said "Do Not Go On", so of course Carrin and I jumped the sign and went to the back of the deck where there was a door. I was trying to open the door when Carrin screamed her freaking head off and pointed at my foot. There was a snack crawling right next to my foot and we both screamed and ran to the front. It was extremely scary. We thought that it was a poisonous snake because of the colors but it was just one that looked like it. Throughout the trip on the island we took walks that were miles long. They were usually really windy. When we were walking Mr. Bergquist put us along the way for alone time in far away places. One of the really windy times Mr. B (being his crazy self) put me on top of a cliff behind a boulder that I was pretty sure was going to fall off the cliff and I'd fall to my death, but then I just fell asleep. One of the nights on the Island some other people and I slept on top of a hill. It was pretty cold and Marina's sleeping pad almost flew off the cliff. A couple days later we packed up to leave the island. We got to the dock and we were told that the boat would be late. We finally got on the boat and Mr. Snelling, Mr. Bergquist, Megan, Carrin, Emily, and I sat on top of the boat with two other guys. I became friends with them fast! All together the trip was really fun.
