Phalen Cochran

My best friend. My partner in crime, & the only who's always there through it all. I love you Pha! So much. She's the one that can make me laugh when I'm about to cry. She knows all my secrets and I trust her 100%. It's impossible for me to go through a day without hugging her. She's amazing at sports too, I'm so jealous. She gives the best advice and the best hugs. She knows just what to say when I'm feeling down. I could live with this girl. I absolutely love her to death. She's been there with me through all the boys, from Darby to Coleman to Ty, and all of them in between. She's been with me through all my problems and those dumb girls who tell lies. She's got my back through and through. We have so many inside jokes. Like "am I funny?" hahaha. We have the best times, like going to the beach, watching scary movies, watching her baseball games, Riptide, school soccer basketball and volleyball, almost going to the district dance, and many more. She was a spy with me in 6th grade... and then she moved. When she came back this year we became tighter than ever. Nothing could come between us.

We have our bad moments, our little fights, but nothing could ever come between us... & Nothing ever will. <3

Charles Goodnight Presentation

Did you stand up straight but stay relaxed?
Yes, I was standing up straight. I seemed pretty relaxed though, I shook a little bit.

Did you pause for a moment before you began your speech?
I didn't pause before I began. I went right into it because I was nervous.

Did you look at your audience?
Most of the time I was looking at the audience. I looked down at my paper to see what slide I was on a couple times though.

Did you let your facial expressions naturally reflect what you were saying?
My facial expressions pretty much stayed the same. My project didn't have anything too happy or too sad to naturally reflect though.

Did you use your hands?
I didn't use my hands. I'll remember not to have not cards next time so I can use my hands for emphasize.

For each of the following questions, describe what went well and what you could improve in the area of VOICE. Write two complete sentences for each question.

Did you speak loudly enough so that everyone could hear you?
I spoke loudly most of the time. In the video I saw that I mumbled once or twice, not a good thing to do.

Did you change your tone to show how you felt (upset, excited) about an idea or to emphasize a point?
I did do that well a couple of times. A few times in the video you could hear my voice change about what I was talking about.

Was your speed of delivery too fast, too slow or just right?
A couple times I did go too fast, but for the most part I think it was just right. I'll slow down a little next time.

General questions:
Write two complete sentences for each question.

Did you practice your speech at home before giving it?
Honestly, I didn't practice my speech at home. It would probably be a good idea for next time though.

What did you notice that you did well in your speech?
Well I seemed to look like I knew what I was talking about. I didn't look like I didn't know anything about Charles.

Describe one aspect of public speaking you will work to improve?
I could definitely try to not be as nervous. I'm already a shaky person and I was shaking up there like crazy.
